Myakka River Trails

Myakka River Trails is Sarasota County’s only waterfront community on the Myakka River. Offering a secluded and natural setting, Myakka River Trail is a private, gated community featuring amenities that include private horse and nature trails, a clubhouse with community pool, lighted tennis courts and playground. The natural amenities of Myakka River State Park to the north, Deer Prairie Creek Reserve to the east and the Myakka State Forest to the south, make this community perfect for those who enjoy outdoor activities.

Residential options are varied, as most homes are custom designed by one of the community’s recommended home builders. With direct river or riverfront access, the 62 home sites range from 5 to 15 acres and have ample space for a myriad of exciting floor plans. This community offers 33 waterfront lots as well as 29 off water lots. For the off water lots, MRT features a community boat ramp leading directly to the Myakka River.

Myakka River Trails is a naturalists dream. This private gated community of fine estate homes is surrounded by native Florida vegetation. According to the deed restrictions, front and rear setbacks are 250 feet and side setbacks are 50 feet, thus ensuring privacy. Residences must have a minimum of 3,000 square feet of air conditioned space and at least a two car attached garage. Lots range from 5-15 acres and most have direct frontage on the scenic Myakka River. For those aquatically inclined, the Myakka River offers outstanding fresh and saltwater fishing and direct access to Charlotte Harbor and the Gulf of Mexico. The Myakka was designated a Florida Wild and Scenic River by State legislature in 1985. It is one of only two rivers in Florida to be recognized with this special status.
